adios junio
Last day of June. By next week it will officially be 6 months and I will be relaxing in paradise. This week is going well, trying to be more relaxed about... well everything. Trying to be chill about time and lesson planning and what I think I need to do. My mantra this week: no rushing. I've been visiting with people this week which is fun and helps me get out of the house. It's really a great experience to literally be able to “drop in” on your neighbors. I wish we did it more in the U.S. Stop by, be fed, drink coffee, chat, and just spend time together. We get so bogged down with plans and productivity that we hardly ever see each other. I got to visit with 3 of my students today (siblings) and met their super pregnant cow and their rabbit and the rabbits six new babies (only five days old! Haven't even opened their eyes yet!) All of this was of course a tour given by their 4 year old brother (not yet in school) who dragged me around in typical toddler fashion once the shyness had worn off. He even showed me the mark on the tree trunk where his brother fell on his bike. It was great house tour. They live across the street from the school but up the mountain a ways. What a view... it's like another world up there. Makes me realize how “big” this town is at times. But the more I visit the smaller it gets.
